Our Caregivers

We have very high standards when it comes to hiring home care and home health care staff. We only hire dependable, professional, and dedicated caregivers who love what they do. A company owner interviews each prospective employee and checks references from previous employers as well as personal references. All employees must pass a criminal background check, DMV record check, as well as a State Registry for abuse. In addition, drug screening is performed prior to employment. All of our employees are covered by workman's compensation and are fully insured by our agency. Our agency withholds all payroll and government taxes as they are not subcontractors, but employees.

Our caregivers complete an orientation program, ongoing continuing education requirements, as well as supervised visits to ensure quality control. All of our employees have experience with the elderly and are given training in Alzheimer's care, infection control, and body mechanics.

Many of our caregivers are licensed by the state as Nurse's Aides. This means they have completed a state accredited program for providing care as a Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA). They must pass a state competency exam as well as maintain ongoing continuing education to renew their LNA license.

All of the qualifications and background checks only complete a part of the Live Free Home Health Care caregiver. It takes a special person to be a top-notch caregiver, and we believe our clients deserve only those caregivers possessing special qualities such as patience, understanding, respect, and good listening skills….someone we would feel comfortable with in our home.

Additionally, during the initial client assessment, clients are matched with caregivers that would best suit their needs. We want every client to feel comfortable with his/her caregiver(s) and always work promptly regarding any client’s concerns so that satisfaction and quality care can be achieved.

Our Nurses

Under the leadership and direction of our Director of Patient Services, Jennifer Harvey, RN, BSN, our team of nurses provides ongoing assessments and direction to our caregivers, ensuring each client's plan of care is followed and continually updated. Through both phone calls and visits with the client, our nurses ensure any medical issues are addressed promptly. Our nurses also coordinate with each client's primary care provider regarding the care that is being provided, keeping family members apprised of updates.
