It shouldn’t surprise you that it was only after we were told it was impossible for Al to come to Squam Lake for a part of the summer that Peter and I decided to figure out a way to make it happen! We knew that the right health care would be our most important decision.

As I’ve told you, I interviewed almost a dozen agencies by phone until I narrowed the search down to three, of which you were one. Jen happened to be the first personal interview I had set up, but she put us so at ease, we knew we’d be happy with your organization no matter how great the others may be. It actually helped solidify our decision to hire you after we met with other people (all of whom were just fine). We were able to refine our follow-up questions and get a better handle on what we should do to help the process go as smoothly as possible.

Still, we were pretty apprehensive about everything until we met with Jen and Jen A., our primary caregiver. She is wonderful! Peter and I felt so much better after she had visited the house, seen the set-up, etc. We were able to look forward to the 5 weeks with excitement instead of concern. I’m sure our enthusiasm rubbed off on the rest of the family as well. Everyone pitched in and really contributed to a truly memorable 5 weeks.

We also can’t say enough about Liz and Ann. I think the variety of people Al dealt with was healthy, and we all learned from each other. There’s no question we all made good friends this summer, and hope that he’ll be well enough to make the trip again next year. Needless to say, you’ll be the first to know if it can happen! We are very grateful to you all.
